 Why I love bunnies.

Hello, my name is Raye and I breed and sell rabbits. Holland lops are a sweet breed of 

bunnies that each have their own unique personality, they come in a very wide variety of 

colorings; Blue (type of grey), Chocolate, Orange, Creme, Lilac, and the colors in broken as 

well as can have Vienna markings which is just naming a few of the color types so to begin

my blog, instead of posting about caring for bunnies and "how to's" etc... I wanted to start 

by posting a simple paragraph on why I love bunnies and why I think they make wonderful 

pets. 

Bunnies are the ideal cute fluffy friend that people love to pet, play, and feed. Some breeds 

like the angora have extra long and soft fur that you can even sell as bunny fur fibers! Or 

Holland Lops that come in almost every assortment of fur colors, eye colors and even have 

some different patterns as well as have a good temperament and sweet personalities. Even 

the painting I made for this blog is of an endangered breed called the Blanc de Hotot which 

is especially adorable. So where I'm trying to get at is that you could get whichever breed of

bunnies that suits you most and there are many types (I would recommend Holland Lops). 

So below I made a quick list (only five things) of some good reasons I think you would love a 

Holland Lop for,

  1. Easy management.

  2. Each and every one has its own personality.

  3. Good temperament.

  4. Comfort pet.

  5. Adorable.

The C_ gene set.

Gene set C_ The C_ gene set is one of the most complex gene sets of the five, it's called the color gene and basically controls how much pigment your bunny has in its fur.  Note: As in other posts I'll order the genes from the most dominant genes to the most recessive genes.  The full color gene (C_). This gene is pretty simple (it is the name) it's just the full color pigment in your rabbit's fur.  Variations of this gene includes: C cchd, Ccchl, Cch, & Cc. The Chinchilla dark gene ( cchd).  This gene shares dominance with the chinchilla light gene (cchl) or co-dominance. This gene shows the Agouti pattern but lightens any yellow or off white to white as well as doesn't let all the color pigment but most show, it also some times makes rabbits with blue eyes.  Variations of this gene includes: cchd, cchdcchl, cchdch, & cchdcc.
